Batik Beach Quilt DONE!

Finally finished my beach quilt and I just love it!!! I used my dark blue hand dyed fabric that I originally planned to use for the backing for the binding and it looks fantastic. I learnt that hand stitching my dyed binding fabric onto a quilt with my dyed fabric on the back is very hard to do.  Took three days to stitch and I had to use a thimble which I never use for binding.  But it was all worth it in the end.  I used my Dragonfly Pond Pantograph with a light beige thread.   This is the first time I have used my new Quilter's Dream Deluxe cotton batting, it is wonderful to quilt with and has a great loft to it.
I loved this quilt so much I even painted my toes to match!!! ( And I rarely paint my toes!)
Only two more days until I make the draw for the Totebag Giveaway

  1. Yours will be the most fashionanle beach around. You may have started a trend. I have never heard of painting your toenails to match the beach quilt but....you see what I mean by starting a trend. Your beach quilt is fantastic. Love those dragonflies. They will be good to have around if the mosquitoes show up! Happy sunbathing. Hope the sun shines on your birthday so you can make use of your quilt. A

  5. WOW, it makes a wonderful dock blanket too! Many suns to enjoy while laying on this blanket; and yes the dragonflies will certainly help with the mosquitoes. Good job on matching up the nail polish! You will find in your 40's that you have time to paint your toes... ha ha! G

  12. Hi Cheryl,
Your a no reply blogger so I hope you see my answer here!
I used Eliza's Backporch Crazy Curves templates to make the blocks and the layout is my own creation. Lots of planned randomness :)
