Island Sunrise #5

This is Evelyn’s Island Sunrise and she used two set of patterns to make her quilt larger than the wall-hanging size we made at the guilds workshop.  The green and blue batik fabrics make for a wonderful colour combination.   She asked for an edge to edge quilting design and I chose the Curlz panto.   So Fine green thread on top and blue Bottom Line for the backing.

I showed the backing I snow dyed in the last post and I was very pleased with how well it matched the quilt top.   I’m feeling more confident in my fabric dyeing results but know that it is still part experience and part luck!  :)

  1. Beautiful quilt! I love the colors. The backing looks very nice with it.

  2. This quilt looks great. I really like the panto and the backside is lovely, fits perfect, I think.

  3. Love the batiks! Great quilting too:)

  4. Those colours just sing together....

  5. I LOVE this backing fabric. I think it might be the prettiest fabric I have ever seen before. Thank you for the inspiration, I am thinking I will be finding myself some white fabric for our first snowfall!
