I am almost out of my green tote bags that I give to my clients when I return their finished quilt so it was time to order more. In the past I have purchased burgundy, navy, hunter green and this time royal blue. I get asked quite often where I order my bags and I get them from 4imprints, they have a Canadian and American website. My clients love them and I enjoy seeing them being used.
Still nothing to share that is quilting related but I do have a nice story to tell. I am happy to report that I did give away two quilts last week to two very deserving young girls. A friend who moved away from our area 10 years ago came back for a visit with her daughters, who are 8 and 13. They were very interested in all my quilts and the older girl keep commenting on how much they liked them. When they were getting ready to leave the 13 year old ask her mom if they could ask me to make her a quilt! The light bulb goes off in my head and I take them out to my Shack. I ask the 13 year old what her favorite colour is and she said blue. I take out my blue batikPopsicle Sticks quilt as well as my Cupcake quilt for the younger one and ask them what they think. The both loved them so I picked them up and put them in their arms and said “ then they are a gift from me to you”. The look on both their faces was priceless! They both hugged the quilts so tight and the youngest said “this is the best present I ever got”. So now don’t feel so bad about having a large quilt stash and that each quilt eventually finds the right home. It was a great feeling and a good reminder of why I love to quilt.
I have been quilting for over 20 years and have turned my passion for quilting into a home business. Tamarack Shack Longarm Quilting opened it's doors January 2009 on the shores of Schist Lake in Northern Manitoba. I have recently moved to Emo, ON and looking forward to discovering all the beauty of the area and meeting new quilters.
This blog is where I share photos of my quilts as well as my clients quilts. I also enjoy dyeing fabric especially snow dyeing as we have snow 6 months of the year. I have thrown in few personal stories about living on the shores of Schist Lake and now I'm ready to explore and share photos of the area around Emo, Ontario as life isn't all about quilting.
