Catching Up!

I have a few quilts to share as I catch up on my blog posts.  I was away last weekend at a Quilt Retreat in Gimli but now back to work. This is Lori's Cat quilt and is a pattern is called Cat City by Villa Rosa Designs.  I like how she made one purple cat in this clowder of black and grey cats.

I used a new pantograph called London Fog and love how it looks like cat tails on some of the cats!

I also finished quilting this scrappy quilt for Doris using Happy Times for the pantograph.

Then I also finished one for Anne-Marie that her mom pieced for her. She picked out fabrics in lovely shades of grey with a blue border.  I used Allium for the pantograph.

Saw some wonderful Sundogs on my drive home from the Gimli retreat on Monday.

  1. Can you tell me what month the Quilt makers magazine the cats were in?

  2. Even though I have quilted more than 30 years now, I am always delighted when I find (which is fairly often) a ‘simple’ quilt that I love. Such as the one patch grey quilt here. Maybe I find delight not only in how one simple quilt can still have an impact, but it also re-grounds me in the origin and history of quilting. Our ancestors usually had to use materials they had on hand. And what a delight it must have been as they swapped fabrics with other quilters especially in the void of well stocked quilt shops.

  4. Do you possibly know the pattern name for Ann Marie's quilt? It is very interesting to me. It resembles a modified Drunkards Path.

    1. Anne Marie's quilt is just 6" squares sewn together. But if your referring to Doris scrappy quilt I have not idea what the pattern is. It reminds me of the Winners Bouquet pattern I did years ago.

    1. Winners Bouquet is a pattern by Atkinson Designs. It comes with acrylic templates for easy cutting. Loved making it. I'm sure a quick Google search using the designers name will help you find it.
