Town Square Quilt

Kim made this colourful Town Square quilt, which is a pattern by Missouri Star Quilt Co.  She used a Moda Grunge Dots jelly roll and a speckled black linen.  The border is a grey Grunge Seeing Stars fabric.

I quilted it with the Soho pantograph, used a green/grey So Fine thread and used Quilters Dream Blend batting.

Whispering Pines Quilt

Lori found a great way to use her Northcott Fabrics 'Whispering Pines' panel and fabrics!  She used a pattern called Nature's Strips by Pine Tree Country Quilts.

I quilted it with the Ebb and Flow pantograph, used a dark teal So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

I don't have any pines to photograph this quilt around but do have a lot of Poplar trees. It was -30'c when I ran out to take these pictures but I wasn't going to miss an opportunity then there was no wind!

Flannel Bjorn Bear Quilt

Sarah-Lynn made this sweet Elizabeth Hartman's 'Bjorn Bear' quilt for her 3 year old grandson's birthday next month. She used a solid beige background and sashing, and the bears are pieced using a fat quarter bundle of Woolies Flannels from Runaway Quilting.  Love the addition of the bear wearing glasses.

Sarah-Lynn suggested Cool Beans for the pantograph which worked great on the bears.  It also shows up nicely on the brown Minkie backing.

I used a beige So Fine thread and used Quilters Dream Blend batting.

Stitched Pink Quilt

Our local guild, The Cabin Country Quilters, has been donating a raffle quilt to a local cancer charity event called The Luncheon of Hope for many years now.  The quilts donated are a well received by the event and a lot of effort is put into selling tickets.  It is nice to see quilts appreciated and money raised for a wonderful charity group.

This year the guild members decided on Moda's Stitched Pink quilt which was a free project that was released a block a day back in October 2020 to increase awareness of Breast Cancer. We cut block kits and members took a block or two home to stitch. Last Wednesday a small group was able to meet and sew the quilt top together.  I took it home to quilt and it just needs the binding.  I'm happy to past that job along to another guild member.

You can find the block patterns at this link to Moda's Stitched Pink archive.

We asked Quilt Junction if they would kit this up for us using an assortment of Pink Moda Grunges which was suggested in the pattern.  They did a fabulous job!

I quilted it with white So Fine thread and used Quilters Dream Blend batting.  The pantograph is called Windswept and has the look of flowing ribbons.

The backing is a pink batik with the breast cancer ribbon image.
