Can I Tempt You with a Giveaway?
My copies of Quilter's Connection arrived in the mail yesterday and I finally got to see our article. If you look closely on the cover you can see they mentioned the article...."go play in the snow, a fun fabric dyeing technique". The reason I'm pointing this out is they used the correct spelling of 'dyeing' on the cover but.....not so much in the title on the page!! Whoops! But there is nothing we can do and glad it wasn't our mistake :) I am just very excited that our article was accepted into the magazine.
Anyway I receive a few extra copies of the magazine so thought I would give a copy to one of my readers. And since it is close to Christmas how about I throw in a meter of snow dyed fabric, your choice of colors! It can be one color or a mix of colors, I'm always up for trying a new combination so lets have fun with this. So here is what you have to do to enter. Leave a comment telling me what colors you would like me to snow dye for you if you win! I won't dye it until I talk to the winner first, so you can change your mind :) If you prefer you can email me your answer or call or knock on my door...I'm not picky :) I'll make the draw on Tuesday Dec 13.
Note- If you comment Anonymous or are a 'no reply blogger' please give your email address with the comment. I need to be able to get a hold of you if you win!
Sounds great! Snow dyeing is loads of fun. I would love a piece of fabric made with rust/teal...or other earthy colors. Thanks for the chance to win a giveaway. I bet the article is still great...even with the typographical errors.
ReplyDeleteI would absolutely love a copy of the magazine! So hard to commit to colors for the fabric...I have been on a purple kick lately and love lime green. Maybe I could whip up something cute to match my traveling lime green Tutto bag for my sewing machine. Just a dreamy thought right now.
ReplyDeleteHi Congratulations - the article looks amazing - I wouldn't have noticed the typo if you hadn't mentioned it - I was too busy looking at the lovely pictures. C

ReplyDeleteWell done girls! It is wonderful to share your knowledge with others and to be published. All the snow dyed colors look great, but I am into pink right now with a new granddaughter.
ReplyDeleteKathy, I would love some of your snow dyed fabric, and copy of the magazine! How cool! I intended to ask you last time i commented... Do you have a list of products you use to do the dyeing? I will need to get the dyes if I want to try it, and if we ever get any snow! I love blues and greens. Thank you!

Congratulations on your article. I'd love a copy of the magazine. Should I be the lucky winner I'd like blue or green, or a mix of them - or anything you come up with, really! Your fabrics are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being published!! As English is a foreign language to me I always worry about such embarrassing mistakes ;).
ReplyDeleteBut I would love to read the article and rest of the the magazine. I don´t think that it is avaiable in Germany. For the fabric I would wish for aqua, turqouise, teal, blue, just any color of the sea. Thank you for the chance to win.

Kathy - I'd be so thankful if I was the winner! (If not, I'm searching out the magazine, anyway). My favorite colors are blues . . . throw my name into the hat! Bev
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being published! I sent you an e-mail with my wishes if I win. Congrats to whomever wins the giveaway, too! CindyT
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Kathy!!!! That is just so awesome!!!!!!! You're in a magazine!!!! Deservingly so!!! I like caramel. Is that even a choice?? LOL!~
ReplyDeleteWow Kathy, congrats on the magazine article!! I am not even sure what color I would pick, they are all so striking! The orange ones sure are beautiful. Anyway love your blog, can't wait to see what you do next!!
ReplyDeletePlease put me in for the draw- any color will do! I love the red-orange-yellow you did.
ReplyDeleteI love your snow dyeing. No chance of having a go - the most we get is a few centimeters here in the UK (though it's enough for the country to grind to a halt). I love greens!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of your fabrics,I would use it wisely.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your article! I would choose blue, because it would go so well with a snowy quilt. I've not mch chance of snow dyeing here - even if I did collect the shavings from our ice rink, it'd melt before I could get it home! Years ago we had a ski slope at the ice rink (it's since become unviable) and I worked there - they'd've thought me mad hanging around after it closed with fabric and dyes!
ReplyDeleteCongrats...it is always fun to see names in print!! Woo Hoo!!!
ReplyDeleteOh man...a choice of dye....something caramel/coffee like. Yum!!
How exciting you made it to a print article. I have shared your link lots for the snow dyeing methods. Color choice is not so easy to comment on. It would definitely be an earth tone, but which one?
