The Swirl Quilt

wr5

This is Wendy’s quilt and she adapted this quilt from a pattern called The Swirl by Louisa Smith in the book Strips and Curves. The quilt measures 65” x74” and the design is a large scale swirl set in a random pattern.  Wendy made it for a raffle quilt for a small AIDS health unit in Winnipeg called Nine Circles.  I hope this will be a great fundraiser for this group and that they raise a lot of money!

I used the Allium panto as it has large scale swirls to add over all texture to the quilt. Quilters Dream Blend batting and a medium green So Fine thread.

  7. HI Kathy! Beautiful quilt! Would it be possible for Wendy to post here, or email me, on how to buy tickets for this quilt raffle? I'd love to win this quilt and also support a local charity. Thanks!

  10. What an awesome quilt! I have the book, but it has never crossed my mind that the patterns are applicable for "whole" fabrics instead of strata...
