Linda hand pieced this extraordinary 'Smitten' quilt, the pattern is by Lulu Well for Sunspell. This is an English Paper Piecing technique pattern so all hand pieced. I was very impressed with her tiny hand stitches as I am trying to learn how to EPP myself. Linda used straps from her stash and a friends stash to make this quilt.
Linda asked for a pantograph design that is smooth with no points so we picked Ginger Snap! I used a medium taupe So Fine thread and she brought a wool batting.
Linda did an amazing job picking fabrics for this quilt!
This is "wow" on so many levels! And very generous of her friend! Did Linda say when she started on this quilt or how long it took her to piece??
ReplyDeleteI'm also curious as to the 'how long'. I do a LOT of hand piecing (hexies - both large and small) and this type of project is lovely to do while waiting at appointments, in the recliner at night, etc. The mix of colors, sizes and shapes is outstanding!
