First Snow of the Year

michele1

This is Michele’s Strips and Salsa quilt using the Cuzco fabric collection.  I used Happy Times for the quilting design and Quilters Dream Blend batting.   I was hoping to get pictures outside today but it has been snowing for two days now.  Yesterdays snow was melting but today it is starting to accumulate!

We still have leaves on some of the trees and the Tamaracks are turning yellow now!

If you look closely you can see some ducks on the lake.

This should all melt as it is a bit early for the snow to stay.

  3. Oh Kathy - as much as I hate, hate, hate winter - your pictures are so beautiful. It all looks so serene and peaceful. No snow yet in Dauphin, but I know it's coming! That quilt should help keep someone warm - it's gorgeous.

  5. I can't believe you have snow already probably because I have only seen it once in the last 38 years. Such gorgeous pictures and I never realised that a Tamarack is a tree! That's a pretty quilt too.

  6. Hard to believe that Mother Nature is already trying on her winter coat. Soon all her fall colours will only exist in our memories and in your work. Photos or quilting, you have the knack, keep up the great work.
