Sapphire Song Quilt

This is Lucinda's Sapphire Song quilt, the pattern is from the Jan/Feb 2021 edition of Fons & Porter magazine.  This is a paper pieced pattern and she used lovely shades of blue against a white Grunge background.

I quilted it with a new pantograph called Jester, used white So Fine thread and Quilters 80/20 white for batting.

I was able to get these photos after a small rain shower when the wind died down.   Then once it cleared up I set up my stand again and got this next shot against the blue sky. I was excited to take pictures today as I just finished an online quilt photography coarse by Kitty Wilkin ( Night Quilter) for only $25US and it was fabulous.  You can find the course here. Even though I consider myself a Hobbyist Photographer there were some great tips and tricks I learnt in the course.

If you're curious what I hang my quilts on here is a peek. A few years ago I had my husband created special brackets to add to my backdrop stand to turn it into a quilt stand. I wanted the quilts to hang in front of the tripod legs so they can't be seen.

  2. Beautiful blues, but the quilt against the blue sky and the green grass with hints of yellow, perfect. The stand, how innovative to add the extensions, having A clever man is always a huge bonus for us quilters and photographers.

  3. Love the quilt and the "behind the scenes" info about your customized stand. Any chance you'll share more information and pictures about your husband's creation? Also, how do you attach the quilts to it?

  4. Those blues just sparkle on the quilt, wonderful look of 'curved' piecing. I had Jester on my wish list for pantos, but haven't purchased it yet. It looks great on this quilt, you always make great choices that complement. It's a bit of a gut feel for it that I am starting to get. Lucky you to have such a helpful handy husband!

  5. Beautiful quilt. I love the way it looks like they are curves....but from straight line blocks. I personally hate doing curves. Beautiful quilting and I love your hanging creation. Kudos to hubby.
