Patchy Pumpkin Farm Quilt

Peggy made this sweet Fall/Halloween themed lap quilt.  Pattern is called Patchy Pumpkin Farm by Brittany Tunison of White Plain Quilts.  Peggy used Art Gallery Fabrics 'Spooky and Sweeter'  collection and the background fabric is a light pink solid AGF.

Peggy asked for a Bat pantograph and since I didn't have one I did a quick online search to find this one at Quilting Pantographs. They do not offer paper pantographs but did have a 'print your own' option that I could download. I don't usually like to print and tape them together but I wanted to get it quickly and the price was right.  $6 and they had a 2 for 1 sale so I got 2 for $6 ( September sale).

The backing was also from the Spooky and Sweeter line.

I quilted it with light pink So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

Petal Junction in Sprout Wovens

I'm always excited to get one of our Highway 10 Design patterns to quilt for a client.  Kim made this wonderful Petal Junction quilt in King size so it is 105" x105".  The pattern has 7 sizes from Toddler to King and is fat quarter and half yard friendly.   Kim used Sprout Wovens by Fableism to make her quilt and the colour and texture are fabulous!

I quilted it with my largest scale pantograph which is Fascination as the blocks are 15".
I used a grey So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

The colours are a wonderful earthy shades of green, blue, and greys.  Matches my room perfectly!

Disappearing Pinwheel Arrow Quilt

Bev made this pretty Disappearing Pinwheel Arrow quilt using a pattern by Missouri Star Quilt Co.    The fabric collection is called Under the Apple Tree by Cotton & Steel, the background is Architexture by Carolyn Friedlander and the outer border is AGF solid purple.

I quilted it with the Fascination pantograph, used purple So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.  Backing is a lovely purple Minkie.

Tim and I went for one last kayak of the season on Rainy Lake.  And I was able to sneak up on another family of otters along a creek. This time there were 5 otters to watch and they were as curious about me as I was about them.  Lots of snorting sounds to alert each other and then after a few minutes they disappeared.

Great way to end the summer season.

Moonlight Sonata Quilt

Angele pieced this gorgeous Moonlight Sonata quilt which is a pattern by Wing and a Prayer.  She used blue and teal batiks for the blocks and light grey and white batiks for the background.  It is great to see when quilters can take a pattern and use the colours they prefer from the original pattern.

I quilted it with the Windswept pantograph, used light grey So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

It is great to be back quilting after my summer break.

September Already!

As always it is sad to see summer come to an end but this September is still delivering the warm temperature for a few more weeks!  Might get another paddle or two in before fall hits.

I actually did make and quilt something this month, a cute table runner using Moda's Early Girl charm pack gifted to me.  I used the Little Charmers II pattern to make this one.

I also finished another embroidery project and this one had a lot of French Knots!. It's called "Purple Tree" by Momentoell and I purchased the PDF design on their Etsy shop.

But most of my time was spent with my camera at the ready and the hummingbirds did not disappoint. I caught a moment when a female hummingbird approached my dahlia plant and then something caused her to get upset.  Not sure what caught her attention but she was chirping like crazy!

I had this majestic eagle fly right in front of me while kayaking and glad I was ready with my camera on my lap.

I have a started receiving my clients quilts for September so should be back to my regular posting soon.
