Exploding Heart Quilt

Nancy made this fun and bold Exploding Heart quilt, pattern by Slice of Pi.  She used batik fabrics in jewel tone colours and a solid back background.

I quilted it with the Tickle pantograph, used charcoal So Fine thread and Quilters Dream poly black batting.

Nancy brought a wide backing by Henry Glass Fabrics called Radiance.

This is the first time I have gone to the lighthouse for quilt pictures since early spring.  It was flooding out this summer so nice to get back to my favorite photo spot.

This was the Rainy River in June.  The lighthouse was an island!

Petal Junction in Kaffe Fassett

Bev made a wonderful King sized version of our Highway 10 Designs Petal Junction quilt using Kaffe Fassett fabrics.  The large bold prints are perfect for this pattern as the blocks are 15". She used a solid periwinkle background to highlight the prints.

I quilted it with the Popcorn pantograph as it has a swirly flowery feel.  Thread was a purple So Fine and batting Quilters Dream Blend.

Dragon Dreams Quilts

Kim made this fun kids quilt using a pattern called Dragon Dreams by Apples and Beavers.  She actually made two, one for each of her grandsons.

I quilted them with the Ombre pantograph as it gives the look of fire because we all know dragons breath fire!

I used light beige So Fine thread and Quilters Dream blend batting.  Kim brought a lovely grey Fireside for the backing and left if all in one long piece so I could load the backing once and just add the second quilt to the same backing to save time.

Mad Hatter Tea Party Quilt

Linda made this fun Mad Hatter Tea Party quilt using Tula Pinks pattern and fabric lines. The fabric collection is called Curiouser and Curiouser and are paired with True Colour solids.

I quilted it with the London Fog pantograph as it give the look of steam rising from the cups and tea pots.  I used a light grey So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

Backing is a Tula Pink Curiouser 'Big Buds' extra wide.

So many fun details in this quilt from the fussy cut Alice and Queen of Hearts to the mouse, rabbit and hats in the outer border.
