Once I finished the top I knew that the best quilting design for this one would be cross hatching. Since any ruler work on my longarm cause pain in my shoulder/back I knew I had to pace myself and only quilted 30 minutes at a time with lots of break. It was on my machine for 5 days but only took about 7 hours to complete. I know this is one I can not quilt for clients but it is very doable on a domestic machine.
Next decision was what thread colour to use. I debated about using MonoPoly but then asked my friend Desley what she would recommend. She had quilted one and used a blue/green Rasant thread so I looked through my So Fine colours and chose #511.
I'm really happy with how it turned out. I had to take it slow and steady as the intersections were quite thick using the Fusible Grid and I was getting some thread breakage at those spots. I was really glad I didn't go with the Monopoly as the thread breakage would have been a lot more.

But that's not the end of the quilt story. I had an idea that I could cross-stitch this design as well using the quilt pattern. So I bought a teal 14 count cloth and matched up all 46 fabrics in the quilt to DMC floss. I taped the fabric number to the floss for easy reference.
I put it into a 5" hoop. Looks so tiny compared to the quilt.

Oh My !!!! This is a keeper for sure. Baking, I did a marathon bake yesterday for family and friends, one friend came to collect the first half of hers, I had left lemon muffins in a container with a teatowel over them, and the dreaded ants had found them !!! Luckily the rest had been in sealed containers., Baking, not like quilting, vanishes in a flash, your beauty will last a lifetime.
