Homecoming Quilt

This is Evelyn’s quilt that she made for her grandson’s High School graduation.  She used the Homecoming wall hanging pattern as the centre of the quilt and then added the Canada Gemstones bundle to make it a bed size quilt, not a wall hanging.   I quilted free hand 3’s and E’s on the stripes with beige So Fine thread and then switched white as I stitched in the ditch around the applique and added swirls to the background.  Changed to red thread for the vertical wavy lines down the two red sides.

Most of the ice is off the lake now and I have been watching the Northern Pike swim along the shoreline.

  1. Breathtaking!!! Fab quilting. What a great grad quilt.

  2. Beautiful quilt, and your quilting is stunning, as usual. Evelyn's grandson will love this!

  3. Evelyn's quilt is just gorgeous and certainly came to life with your quilting. I'm sure she was very pleased and know her grandson will absolutely love it!

  4. I have always been drawn to this wallhanging, but love what she did to make a bedsize quilt. And of course, the quilting is just right, great job.

  5. Very cool quilt!! and no more ice on the lake!
