Ombre Gems Quilt

Shelly made this beautiful Ombre Gems quilt, a pattern by Quilty Love.  This is a great Jelly Roll pattern using ombre fabrics.  I quilted it with a new floral pantograph called Simple Jacobean, just love how it turned out!

I used white So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

Took the quilt for a drive to the Barwick Lighthouse. The fall colours made for a perfect backdrop and lightly overcast skies allow me to take picture in directions I normal can't take on sunny days!

Firefly Quilt

Shelly made this adorable Firefly quilt, the pattern is by Pen and Paper Patterns.  She wanted the quilting design to give it movement so we decided on Ripples as it made it look like they were flying over water.

The thread is a green So Fine and the batting Quilters Dream Blend.

Garden of Stitches #2

Brigitt made this lovely "Garden of Stitches" wool applique quilt by Primitive Gatherings which was a BOM project from a local quilt shop years ago.  This is the second one I have quilted, you can see Stacey's larger version here.

I SID in the piano key border, added a stencil design to the outer corners, added loops in the sashing and pebbles in the background around the flowers.

I used gold So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

I was able to get a few good shots of our Blue Jays in the yard, we have 6 that like to visit the feeder in the mornings.

After getting a few still shots I challenge myself to try to get flying ones as their feathers are spectacular when in flight!

My favourite shot that day!

Home Quarter in Woodlands

Lori made this great version of our Highway 10 Designs 'Home Quarter' quilt using the Woodlands collection by Connecting Threads.  She made the Queen size which is 101"x 101" and takes 36 fat quarters.

I used the Fascination pantograph, grey So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

The leaves are starting to change colour here, Fall is in the air!

Plaid Quilt

Kim made this great Plaid quilt using white and black Grunge.  I quilted it with the Square Spiral pantograph, I think that is one of the first pantographs I bought 12 years ago and its still looks great on today's modern quilts!

I used white So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

5 Quilts for Robin

Robin dropped off 5 lap quilts as she had been busy this past couple of month making quilts for grandkids.  She was able to make all of them from her stash.  This first one above she called her Picnic quilt.  I quilted it with the Flirtatious pantograph and used light mint green So Fine thread.  I used Quilters Dream Blend batting on all her quilts.

This next one is a traditional Log Cabin quilt all done in shades of blue. We chose Fascination for the pantograph and blue So Fine thread.

The next one is done in shades of brown and teal, not sure of the pattern name.  Quilted it with the Plush pantograph and light brown So Fine thread.  The backing was a beautiful teal grunge.

Here is a sweet Unicorn themed quilt and we chose Ginger Snap for the panto and purplish blue So Fine thread.

Last but not least is this pretty Butterfly quilt.  We picked Butterfly Charm for the panto and used bright blue So Fine thread.

Split Stars Quilt

Well September is here and I'm back to work. I have to say that my bookings really filled up quickly over the summer with regular clients booking 2-6 quilts at a time and am now currently booking into January!  I don't usually like to be booked out that far so am going to try my best to keep up with all the quilts coming in this fall.
The first quilt for September was made by Angele and the pattern is called Split Stars by A Bright Corner. It is going to be a wedding gift for a very lucky young couple.

The pantograph is Bayside, white So Fine thread and she brought Hobbs 80/20 batting.

We have been getting some nice thunderstorms this week and I was able to capture a lightening strike behind a double rainbow.
