Candlelight Quilt

Amanda made this fresh modern Candlelight quilt which is a pattern by Prairie Grass Patterns.  It is made with shades of off white, grey and black fabrics and the backing is a black Minkie. She purchased this as a kit from Road 17N

I quilted it with the Soho pantograph, used off white So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

City Slicker in Warm Batiks

Gail pieced this warm toned batik City Slicker which is one of our Highway 10 Design patterns.  She used a light batik background which created a lovely contrast with the autumn coloured 2 1/2" batik strips of fabric. This is a great pattern for using your Jelly Rolls in any colourway.

I quilted it with the Mimosa pantograph, used off white So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

Took it to the 'Tiny Church' right near our house as the colour of the steeple really compliments the quilt.  It was windy as usually but managed to get a few pictures before giving up on getting 'a better shot'.  My family is so patient with me! :)

Boo Quilt 2

Cindy brought two quilts for me to do this month.  The first is the sweet Boo Quilt, the pattern is by The Pattern Basket.  Cindy used fabric she inherited from her mom's fabric stash to make all the ghosts.  One fabric even had little spiders so perfect for this project.  It is nice to hear she is continuing on with her moms quilting hobby and that looking through the fabrics bring back great memories of shopping for fabrics together.

I quilted the Boo Quilt with the Gossamer pantograph, used white So Fine thread and white Quilters Dream 80/20 batting.

The backing is made from the Black Cat Capers line of fabrics.

Then Cindy also brought this pretty batik Tulip quilt which she also made from her moms fabrics. I quilted it with the Fanciful Flyers Pantograph, white So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

Home For Christmas Quilt

Janice made this festive lap sized quilt using the 'Home for Christmas' pattern by Coach House Designs.  It was designed for use with the 'Holiday Lodge' fabric and panels by Deb Strain for Moda.  The house and tree blocks are pieced then mixed in with the smaller panel blocks.

I quilted it with the Snow Winds pantograph, used off white So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

Breezy Windmill Quilt

Brad made this fun Breezy Windmill quilt for his nephew and used a Missouri Star Tutorial which you can find at this link here. He changed up the fabrics to give it more of an Ombre effect across the quilt on the diagonal. It is a great use of solid fabrics blending from light green to dark teal.

I was so happy we have snow now as it just makes the colours on this quilt pop!

Brad asked for the Fascination pantograph and it was the perfect scale for the size of the quilt blocks. I used white So Fine thread and Quilters Dream 80/20 white batting.

Fingers crossed the snow is here to stay for winter as it is my favorite backdrop for quilt photos!

True North Home Quarter Quilt

I am sharing one of my own quilts today.   Last spring I purchased a Kate and Birdie 'True North' fat quarter bundle from Fabriculous and I knew I wanted to make our Highway 10 Designs 'Home Quarter' quilt with it!  I was able to start this one in September at our weekly quilting group that meets in town and I finished stitching the binding on two weeks ago.

We had our first snowfall this week so it was a perfect opportunity to get some pictures against my favorite snowy backdrop.   I quilted this one with the Ombre pantograph, used beige So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

The True North collection is such a fun Canadian themed fabric line.  Cute campers, tents, and maple leaves. I mixed in some Grunge fat quarters and used a beige and red Grunge for the borders and binding.

When I was visiting Lori last week we took a few quilts to Lower Fort Garry and she was a great quilt holder for me!

The Home Quarter quilt is a great fat quarter friendly pattern and perfect for directional prints!  You can purchase it in our Etsy shop or Website in either PDF or paper format.

Cascading Ribbons Quilt

Ellen made this fun Cascading Ribbon quilt for her granddaughters graduation gift.  She adapted the pattern to make it Queen sized and figured out the math to make the ribbons a smaller scale.  Her grand daughter picked the colours and many of the fabrics I recognize as Art Gallery Fabrics.

I quilted it with a new pantograph called Windswept.   I used black So Fine thread and Ellen brought a 80/20 batting.

Oversized Fancy Fox Quilt

Peggy made this wonderful oversized Fancy Fox quilt by doing the math and making the blocks 12". With a 8 x 8 block layout she had a quilt that measured 100" x 100".   She made it scrappy by using orange fabrics from her stash for the fox heads and light grey background.

She asked for Modernish for the pantograph and I used a light grey So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.  The backing is Smoke and Rust fabric by Moda.
