Plus Quilt in Wovens

Kim brought this fabulous Plus Quilt top which was her Queen Bee project at our guild.  Members each got a month and picked the block other participates would make them when it was their month.  Kim picked this Plus Block and gave us the fabrics which are Manchester Wovens by Diamond Textiles.

Kim made more blocks so the final quilt was a queen size quilt.

I quilted it with the Bayside pantograph and used light brown So Fine thread. The batting Kim brought was a cotton batting and the backing a brown Minkie.

Bexford Quilt

Peggy made this fun Bexford Quilt, pattern by Tied with a Ribbon.  Instead of using the paper templates in the pattern Peggy used the Bloc Loc 4x4" Drunkards Path acrylic templates to cut her blocks out.

The fabrics used are called "Pips" by Aneela Hoey with some scraps of Moda Essentials and ABC XYZ.   Here is a close up of these sweet small scaled prints!

I quilted it with the Modernish pantograph, used white So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

Ice Cream Cone Quilt

Last year our local guild did a Queen Bee block swap.  For my month I asked for these paper pieced Ice Cream Cone blocks which are a free pattern on the Quiltmakers website, under their Project Linus patterns.  I gave out the background fabric and the cone fabric and member used fabrics from there stash to for the ice cream.  I sashed it with a pink Grunge and used Fire and Ice from P&B Textiles for the border and corner stones.

I quilted it with the Flirtatious pantograph using pink So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.  I backed it with a solid periwinkle blue fabric.

Cameo Snowball Quilt

Nyla made this pretty Cameo Snowball quilt which is available as a kit at Along Came Quilting.  The fabrics are beautiful oversized flowers in a soft palette from Kaffe Fassett Collective.

I quilted it with the Knit 1 Purl 2 pantograph, used pink So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

Nyla brought a lovely soft pink Cuddle backing which shows the quilting design nicely.

I don't usually like to take quilt pictures in dapple light but it seemed to work well with this light colours quilt.

I quilted it with the Tickle pantograph, used beige So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting

The backing was a bright orange blender fabric that worked so well with the colours of the quilt top.

Dinosaur Petal Junction

Janice made this fun kids quilt using our Highway 10 Designs Petal Junction pattern.  She used a dinosaur flannel for the focus and then framed with Grunge in red, green, blue and yellow. The background is a beige Grunge as well. Out of the 3 layout options in the pattern she chose the Zig Zag layout plus added one 'X" section in the top right corner because she likes to mix it up a bit.

I quilted it with the Plush pantograph, used beige So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting. The backing is a dark green Cuddletex.

Not sure if you noticed but when the Zig Zag layout is used in this pattern an arrow shows up in the background.
