Police Quilts

Back in October I had the privilege of custom quilting 2 quilts for Julie.  She made these quilts as gifts for her sons who are both police officers and they received their quilts this month.  Julie used the same panel and layout for both quilts but added their shoulder badges and photos to personalize them.

  This first quilt is Shawn's who works for the Winnipeg Police Service.  

I quilted the outer border with the Curved Echo design using curved rulers, added loops and stars to the inner border, SID in the piecing and added wavy lines on the panel.

Since the panels have an American flag in the background I thought I would add a Canadian element and put maple leaves in the back border.

The second quilt was Tyler's who is an Ontario Provincial Police officer.

I quilted it similar to Shawn's but changed the inner border quilting to swirls.
