Joanne made this striking quilt using a Koi print fabric as the focus. The pattern looks like it is from the BQ series. I knew right away it needed the Ripples pantograph to add a water texture.
I used a blue So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.
The backing was as solid navy which shows off the quilting nicely. I used the blue Magna Glide prewound bobbin for the back.
Pattern is BQ3. A favorite of mine
ReplyDeleteThank you! I thought someone might recognize it! I'll edit my post to add that in.
DeleteYou really got my attention on this one, Kathy and Joanne. A great way to showcase a focus fabric that you just don't want to cut! However, I'm confused on the pattern though as I just spent some time on the BQ site, and BQ3 is more geometric with angles and such. Almost like BQ2 except it has what I'll call trellis end points, not closed in lines of the orange. Then the others don't seem to really match. Maybe my eyes are just playing tricks on me? Regardless, it's a great pattern, quilt and finish. You and Joanne make a great team!!
ReplyDeleteI'll add ... with all this cccccold, it's kind of refreshing to think of open water, sunshine and warmer climes!
