This is Myrna’s Shadow Box quilt and it will be a Christmas gift for her mom who is 94. The purple and pink fabrics make this such a pretty quilt and I’m sure her mom will love it, especially since it was made by her daughter! Myrna asked for custom quilting so I stitched in the ditch around the boxes, added a wavy feather in each box, curls in the white sashing and a feathered curls design in the outer border to tie it all together.
I love it when clients bring solid coloured backings as you can really see the quilting!
So pretty! The colours & of course the quilting just make it pop.
ReplyDeleteA wonderful quilt with an amazing quilting! very well done!
ReplyDeleteGreetings, Rike
beautiful! Love that you too do ditch stitching, seeing many that aren't. Yummy feathers!
ReplyDeleteI always like a quilt with feathers. I was wondering what batting you used? Also what did you use as a bobbin color since it was one color on back?
ReplyDeleteMy client brought the batting, had not label so not sure what it was. The bobbin thread was silvery grey Bottom Line.
