Milestone in Fabric Dyeing

We did it....148 colors, 45 fabric rainbows with 11 dyes.  And this is just the beginning!!!
What you see is 148 fat quarters, Lori and I were dyeing half meter pieces and sharing to lighten the work load and it worked very well.   The only down side for me is paying the extra for the septic tank to be emptied more often :)
What am I going to do with all these you ask?  Well I'm waiting for a fabric order of Kona Black and Kona White and then I'll see what inspires me.  I definately see one quilt being black with the jewel toned dyed fabric just haven't found 'the' pattern yet.

  1. WOW! Congratualions to both of you. The colours are absolutely fabulous. A

  2. Kathy... these are wonderful... you guys did a great job! Beautiful colours, very jewel-like. (P.S. just in case you (or anyone you know) is interested, I'm hoping to have my online store updated very soon and I'll be starting to sell fabrics and a few other quilting supplies.)

  3. Wow...a virtual rainbow!!!

    Best Wishes

  4. Heather...great to hear your starting an online fabric shop. Let me know when it's up and running and I'll be sure to check it out.

  5. Wow, Kathy... you and Lori have been busy! I am back and can't wait to try some more dyes... that is if I still remember how I did it... oh yah, the recipe book! Great rainbow colors... like the teal which I am still working on. G

  6. Yummmmmy!!! I wish this was my stash. I'll let you know if I'm inspired by anything that these need to be a part of. Maybe something with an Amish feel black background?
