This is Lori's Diamond Dazzler quilt and it is a pattern by Glad Creations. Lori used beautiful bright coloured batiks and a tone on tone white background. She asked for custom quilting and I used a variety of feathers, swirls, loops and CC's. I stitched in the ditch around each block and triangles.
I used two different thread on top. White So Fine in the background and green #456 So Fine in the bright batiks. I've mentioned this magic green thread colour before as it works so well on multicolored quilts as it blends in well with all the colours. I also used Quilters Dream Blend batting.
I cross hatched the square in the outer border and added tall loops in the piano key inner border. I stitched in the ditch between the two borders as well as along the top of the piano keys against the white background. I didn't stitch between each key as the spacing of the loops provided enough quilting for that area.
I quilted a larger feather motif in the setting triangles.
It was snowing while I was taking the outdoor pictures but I just had to get for a few photos as I knew it would look so pretty against the snow!
really nice. I have snow envy you know!

ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful!! Would you happen to know what fabrics she used? I know they are batiks, but I was wondering if they are a kit or a set, or even just the name of the manufacture rear and the color way? Thanks
ReplyDeleteStunning quilt and brilliant quilting! So far the best of 2016

Just Beautiful...what's the finished size?
ReplyDeleteI found the So Fine thread, but it’s a grey, not green. Have they changed numbers?
ReplyDeleteThis Quilt just popped up on my computer screen, what a pleasant find! Love the stunning quilt & quilting, the quilting is so elegantly done showing off in all the right places without being over quilted. I also, love the scrappy quilt design anyone could use their leftover brightly colored pieces to make this. Have to ask is it your quilt or a customers? I haven't started quilting yet but my husband is practicing, as we have a new Lenni machine. P.s. i will be checking out more of your site.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to my blog! You will notice at the start of each post I name the maker of the quilt top that I am quilting for and if it is one I made then I say it’s mine! 😀
