This is Ellen’s Daydream quilt and it is a pattern by Swirly Girls Designs. Ellen made this quilt for her granddaughter and I love the fabrics she used! The sashing in this designs is very unique as well. I quilted it with a new pantograph called Poplar and I really like how it looks and stitches out.
Ellen brought Warm and Plush batting which I have never tried and it quilted up nicely. Its a bit loftier than their regular Warm and Natural batt and paired well with the Cuddle/Minkie backing.
I love that new pantograph, Kathy!

How were you able to quilt the white sections of this quilt without the blue cuddle pulling through? I recently tried to use black cuddle with a white quilt top, and couldn't keep the black from pulling up. I had to switch to white cuddle.
ReplyDeleteIt did a bit and I told my client that it would on the white sections and she was fine with it. Her granddaughter really wanted the cuddle on the back. I always warn my clients first and let them make that call then I am not stressed about it when quilting. Using a thicker batting helps eliminate some of the bearding up issue too. I also use So Fine thread on top and Bottom Line in the bobbin.
