Happy New Year!

Hope you all had a lovely holiday season.  We finally got a bit of snow after Christmas so things are finally looking wintery in NW Ontario.  My first quilt for the year is one my local guild made that will be donated to a local community group to raffle.  We ask members in June to make two blocks with the instructions we pass out and to then bring back at the September meeting.  At our last meeting we sewing the quilt top and I took it home to quilt.  The block is one a member suggested, she only had a photo and our search for the pattern came up empty.  So I wrote up a pattern using EQ8 that was inspired by her photo.

We did organize the colours and each member was given a colour to make so we didn't end up with the same colours.

I quilted it with the Fascination pantograph, used grey So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.

I had a bit of fun taking the quilt photo and overlaying it onto another quilt photo I took last year as it was too windy to hang it out in the field.  I'm find I'm getting to old to drag quilts through the cold and snow to get pictures. I just don't have the patience's like I use too!   I have a very good selection of landscape quilt photos that I might repurpose with new quilts.  Work smarter not harder is my new motto!

  2. Awesome!!! How did you do that, swapping the quilt out for another on the photo?

  3. Did you copy and paste? Great idea, and the quilt will be a winner for one lucky person.
