This is Karen’s Norwegian Star Quilt and it is a pattern by Marie’s Quilt Designs. Karen was able to find the same fabrics as on the pattern cover and I just love this quilt! I did a panto design in the centre, called Bora Bora, and custom quilted the borders with loops, snowflakes and bead board. I used a soft blue So Fine thread and Quilters Dream Blend batting.
I seriously need to make this quilt as it looks so good in my guest room!
Wow - that is just gorgeous
ReplyDeletethat's lovely. I have to ask... what's the difference between beadboard and piano key?
ReplyDeletePiano key is a single line of stitching with about 1 inch spacing between lines whereas Bead board is two lines of stitching ( spaced 1/8" to 1/4" apart) and this double line of stitching is repeated with about a 1 inch spacing across the border. I prefer bead board because of the short 1/8" to 1/4" stitching in the ditch instead of the 1 inch stitch in the ditch with piano keys.
DeleteWhat a beautiful quilt! I need to make this one!! Your panto looks like swirling snow...perfect for this quilt.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is so pretty! I've seen a couple different colorways and they all make me want to make it. Perfect quilting!
