I always look forward to working on Phyl's quilts as they are fun to custom quilt! She really is learning how to use her embroidery machine to its fullest potential. This pattern is called Broomhilda's Bakery and the pattern is by Kimberbell Designs.
She purchased the kit from Road 17N Quilt Shop in Winkler, Manitoba.
As you can see on the pattern cover there are still more embellishments to add to the quilt. The two large squares show below that I added the spider webs quilting too will have embroidered signs hanging on them that list "Today's Specials".
As you can see I had fun adding spider webs to as many blocks as possible! I SID around all the embroidery designs, added loops, cross hatching, and stipple for background fills.
It might be hard to see in the photos but blocks that have 'glass' covers or jars are covered in clear vinyl giving it a glossy shine.
The jar of eyeballs is covered in vinyl too!
Phyl chose a lovely orange fabric for the back that also shows off the quilting nicely.
I finally figured out how to get a great straight on shot of a smaller quilt on the floor ...I stood on my kitchen island! Shhh don't tell my husband! :)
I'll share pictures of this quilt with all its embellishments if Phyl sends me some when she is done!
Great, great quilt!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Such a fun quilt - loving the spider and the frogs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun quilt and so well pieced! And of course your quilting is fantastic, as usual. Wish I had time to make one myself.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love her quilt and your stitching embellishments. Try standing on a ladder...might be a little safer.
